Anyday Now Lance

I’snt Lance Armstrong supposed to be leading this thing by now? It was a cute story that he was hanging around the leaderboard the first couple of stages, but we are 14 stages in and he still cant pass Ronaldo Noncintini of Italy. The only Ronaldo i care anything about it is Cristiano Ronaldo and only then to find out who is new flavor of the month is.

He is even behind his Astana teammate Alberto Contador of Spain, wait…his teammate is from Spain. I thought these teams were all supposed to be fellow countryman or something? I guess i need to pay more attention to the rules of cycling. I would have been okay with Lance losing as long as one of his American teammates won it, but not this guy.

Whats really disturbing is not only is he not making up ground, but he’s not making up ground in the mountain stages which were his bread and butter. Maybe i was too quick to get excited for the “Send Me New Adjectives To Describe How Awesome Lance Armstrong Is” post when he won the Tour for the 8th time. I’m still holding out hope, but he needs to get it in gear. And yes…that was a pun intended.

P.S. Doesnt Astana sound like a bottle water brand? Well its not. It’s actually a group of companies in Kazakhstan named after the capital city. Even more disappointing news today. First Cronkite…now this. What have you done Lance? Can we even consider you American anymore?
